Con App Inc. is seeking experienced Residential New Construction Painters to join our production painting team.
This is a full-time, hourly employee position for individuals with painting experience who are looking for consistent work, competitive hourly pay, regular overtime opportunities, company-provided transportation, and the stability and benefits of working with an established residential new construction company.
Our painters work in various locations in and nearby Richmond, Williamsburg and the Tidewater areas. Depending on the production schedule and needs of the job, painters may work independently, work alongside another painter, or work as part of a larger painting crew. Candidates should be comfortable and productive in both individual and team environments.
Previous painting experience is required. Residential new construction painting experience is strongly preferred.
We recognize that years in the trade do not always tell the whole story. Starting pay within the advertised range is based on demonstrated experience, skill level, productivity, versatility, quality of work, and ability to work independently and as part of a team, rather than simply the number of years a candidate has worked in the trade.
As a Residential New Construction Painter, responsibilities may include:
Experience performing paint touch-up, punch-out and correction work in preparation for homeowner pre-settlement inspections is especially valued.
Candidates with this experience should be comfortable identifying and correcting minor paint defects while working carefully around completed flooring, cabinets, countertops, fixtures and other finished surfaces.
Candidates must have:
We are especially interested in versatile painters who bring additional residential new construction skills to the position.
Experience in any of the following is valued but not required:
Candidates possessing several of these additional skills may be considered for compensation toward the higher end of the advertised pay range based on demonstrated ability.
Candidates must be capable of performing the physical demands of residential painting, including standing and working for extended periods; bending, kneeling, reaching and climbing; working overhead; using ladders and construction equipment; carrying paint, tools and equipment; performing surface preparation and sanding; and performing repetitive painting-related tasks throughout the workday.
This position requires the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a crew.
Depending on the day’s schedule, an employee may drive a company-provided take-home vehicle directly to an assigned jobsite or travel with other painters as part of a crew in a company van.
Employees are provided with a company fuel card and vehicle maintenance card for authorized company vehicle expenses.
Because painters may be assigned to work independently and drive directly between projects, a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Specific job assignments and locations vary based on the residential production schedule.
This position offers experienced residential painters an opportunity for consistent full-time hourly employment while providing the variety of both independent and team-based work.
We also value versatility. Painters who bring additional skills such as spray equipment operation, homeowner pre-settlement touch-up, oak handrail and stair staining, or drywall patch and point-up experience bring additional value to our operation.
If you are an experienced painter who takes pride in producing clean work, pays attention to the details, can work independently when needed and works well as part of a team, we want to hear from you.
